Fashion Week – Issue 230

31 Mar

Calling all fashion lovers! In the lead up to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia 2014, this issue we showcase three of the upcoming local talents making a name for themselves in the fashion industry: Michael Lo Sordo, Jane Lu of Showpo, and Katie and Alicia of Pasduchas. We cut it pretty close to deadline, only shooting this cover on Wednesday before print, but luckily it all turned out well (thanks to some design magic by Eleanor). Of course it was no surprise that everyone in the industry from the PR companies to the designers are flat out the week before Fashion Week hits.

For those of you who have not yet seen the issue, go to http://www.ciaomagazine.com.au for the latest gossip and giveaways – we have tickets to the Easter Show and Divergent the movie ready to post out, if you’re one of our lucky winners so get in quick. Plus the usual movie reviews, recipes and sustainability news.

If you have any feedback about the issue, we’d be happy to hear from you – just email info@ciaomagazine.com.au.

Ciao x

We also had our BMW Autumn Racing Fashion Parade on March 21st in conjunction with the BMW 2 Series launch, check out some snaps of the lovely models below. It was one of the best fashion parades we’ve ever held with fashion by Burwood Westfield and Pasduchas, hats by Wendi Nutt (of Philadelphia Philpot Millinery), styling by Rita Mesiti and cars by BMW of course! The show was hosted by the lovely Ortenzia Borre.

The weekend that was…

17 Mar

Locals were out and about all over the Inner West this weekend at both the Bairro Petersham Portuguese Fair and the Carnival of Cultures in Ashfield Park. The day started out great with a crowd of thousands enjoying the performance and delicious food stalls in Ashfield but things turned gloomy at about 12.30pm when the weather went from bright and sunny to rainy and wet! The downpour had people trying to find shelter and wishing they had brought umbrellas (but who knew there’d be such a change on a 30+ degree day!). Nevertheless, the entertainment pushed on and fun was had by those who stuck around.
